Princess on Ice, again

Princess on Ice came again to the Energy Solutions Arena and we of course had to go. We went on opening night and got an AMAZING deal on the tickets, so it was definitely worth it. There were only two stories about princesses this time, so the girls weren't quite as enthralled (especially during the Lion King), but they still had a blast. Before the show started they had the Princess ball gowns set up which the girls liked, but they also had the "real" Princess Tiana and Cinderella there waving at the girls and posing for pictures. That was wonderful for the girls, especially since Emily was dressed as Cinderella. It was once again a great night.

Marathon of Fun

Many of you know that Kenny and I are coupon people. You may laugh (Vickie, I hear you :-), but why go somewhere and pay full price when you can use a coupon! In September we bought some Take 5 cards that gave us free or half price things. We realized last Saturday that these cards expired on Monday the 1st, so last Monday we decided to use all the valuable coupons that we had left. First we went to Weinerschnitzel and got the two girls free corndogs. Then we headed over to Fuddruckers where we had coupons for a free hamburger. We then went to Trafalga where we had free golf for Emily (Ashley's still free) and we had a 2-for-1 coupon for us. We hadn't been to Trafalga in a long time. They've redone it to be glow in the dark blacklight underwater scenes. It's really cool and Emily and Ashley had a blast. Emily also was quite the little natural golfer. She actually beat me by one stroke (hard to admit, but true). She's asked us almost every day since, when can we go golfing again. You'd think we would be done, but NO, there's more. We had 20 free tokens at Chucky Cheese so we let the girls go on a few rides and still brought home 15 tokens for a later use. Then we went to Coldstone and got us all ice creams with our coupons. Whoo, we were finally done and the girls were so happy, but ready for bed. We did all of our night for less than $10!

We called this night our marathon of fun. It was so much fun and super cheap!!! The girls had a blast as did Kenny and I. It's the most amount of time we'd spent together as a whole family in a while too--that was my bonus. I love my family so much! I also love coupons! :-)

Sundays

Sundays used to be stressful for me, but lately I have LOVED them. We have 9:00 church so when we get home we have lots of time to still spend with our girls. We have started making Sundays full of "quiet Sunday activities". In other words, fun peaceful things we can do as a family. We watch a lot of Living Scriptures movies, which the girls LOVE and Kenny and I do too. We play board games together, do "homework" (learn letters, numbers, etc) and just relax together. The girls don't seem to fight as much and I love the feeling in our house. It's great!

A couple weeks ago on Sunday was Valentine's Day. We don't do big things for our girls; usually just some candy. This year I thought it would be fun for Emily to go to the Dollar Store and pick out a few presents for Ashley (and a couple for her too :-) ). She chose well and got so excited picking something out for her sister. She found puzzles for both Ashley and herself. Then on Valentine's Day, Ashley opened up the puzzle (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) and Emily helped her put it together. It was really cute, but for some reason I did not take a picture. Oops! The puzzle Emily found was 170 pieces and when we opened up the box, the pieces were TEENY, but Emily did so great and she and her dad worked on it so well together and had a great time! We've put the puzzle together many times since then too. It was a fabulous Sunday! One of many lately, and I just hope they continue!

It's Official!

Well it's official! Emily is registered for Kindergarten at Grovecrest. I'm so excited to have her at school with me finally, but wow how fast time flew! I love you, Em!

Happy Valentine's Day to my wonderful family! I love you so much! You are everything that I hold precious in this life!

My Favorite Time of Day

I think my favorite time of day is reading to my girls at bedtime. Sometimes it's the only time of day that I get to cuddle and spend great quality time with them. Usually they want me to read way more books than we should and sometimes I give in. I love this time of day.

After Parent Teacher conferences; this was the only time I saw them that day; luckily it's only this way 4 times a year!

A Big Day

Today we did something that came too fast for us parents. We took Emily for her Kindergarten physical so she can officially be registered for Kindergarten in a couple weeks. I have been looking forward to Emily starting school for a long time, because she'll get to come with me to school, but on the other hand I can't believe she's 5 already. I love her so much and am so proud of the little girl that she is. Emily, you are my sweetheart!
