Happy 1st Birthday, Tyler!!!

I can't believe my baby boy is 1!!!  How time flew!  We celebrated on Mother's Day so everyone could come.  We had dinner, cake and ice cream and opened presents.  Tyler did awesome at eating his cake (well, mainly his frosting) and getting it all over himself.  The best of all three of my kids!  It was a great day.
I am SO grateful for this little guy and the wonderful spirit he brings into our house.  He was meant to be in our family and I thank my Heavenly Father each day for the blessing he is.  I love you, Tyler!!!  Happy Birthday!!

Grovecrest Fun Run/5K

Last year our school started a fundraiser 5K and fun run (mile).  Last year Kenny ran the mile with Em and Ash.  I helped because I was 9 months pregnant.  This year we all ran the mile fun run and I pushed Ty in his stroller so he did it too. :-)  The girls did great and Emily ended up 3rd in her age group!  Way to go!  I think we'll work towards the 5K eventually but for now we're proud of ourselves for our mile.

Spring Break Day 6-7: Dinosaurs and Heading Home

On our 6th day in St. George we swam some more and then went to the Johnson Dinosaur Farm.  Tyler liked the sandbox they had there and they had a cool origami dinosaur display.  When we were done, we went to eat at the Pizza Factory and watched a movie.  The next day was our last day.  We chilled, swam, and got ready to go.  We had a blast in St. George but I was ready to get home.  Unfortunately the weather didn't want to cooperate and we were stuck on the freeway for an hour and a half by Cedar City because of snow and an overturned semi.  There were lots of accidents so we were grateful that we arrived home safely. 
I was also extremely grateful that all of us were safe during our trip.  I found out the day we arrived home that a family that goes to my school had not been so lucky.  Their precious little three year old drowned in a backyard pool during their Spring Break.  So sad and tragic!  The mom of this little girl wanted all parents to remember to always hug their children a little tighter and always share their love, because you never know how long you'll have them!  I totally agree and always make sure that my children are always hugged and loved each day and night before I go to school or bed.  I never end the day without telling them that I love them and also thanking my Heavenly Father for them and Kenny.  I'm so grateful for my family!  We had a fabulous Spring Break!

Spring Break Days 4-5

On the next two days of Spring Break we went to a ghost town.  Kenny had been teasing the girls that it's called a Ghost town because only ghosts live there.  Needless to say, the girls were nervous about going.  On the drive there we heard Emily whisper to Ashley in a very serious voice, "Do you think anyone makes it out alive?"  :-)  When we got to the sign that we were there I could tell they were nervous so I reassured them (like I'd tried to do many times already) and tell them what a ghost town really is.
They soon started to relax and even semi-enjoyed looking at the old buildings.  I don't know though if they would request going there again, just to be on the safe side. ;-)

The next day we went on a hike that the people at our condo told us about.  It's in the town of Leeds (just 10 miles away from St. George) and leads to 2 different waterfalls.  Apparently everyone else had been told about this hike too, because it was very crowded!!  I even saw one of my students on the hike!  Emily even wanted to go swimming in the water at the base of the waterfall.  It was ice cold but she had her mind made up so she jumped in with her dad (and then quickly got out!)  It was another great hike and great day!
