Reflections

As I looked back through my posts, I realized that I never posted about Emily's Reflection entry.  I posted that she won an award of merit at the city level, but not what it was that she made.  The theme was the Magic of the Moment.  She chose to write and make a 3-D project about the magic of the moment when you read your favorite book.  Her favorite book at this time was Charlotte's Web so she made a web saying Some Pig and Charlotte in it.  Super creative!!  She has such an artistic mind.  I was so proud of her project and elated that it won at our school and got an honorable mention at the city.  She was so surprised and thrilled too!!  What will she think of for her next project? I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait.  :-)

Crazy Hair Day

The girls (and myself) had crazy hair days at our schools.  Emily has been growing her hair out for the past year just so she could wear a cup in her hair for crazy hair day!  Ashley was super excited to finally have a crazy hair day of her own.  And I, well, am just a good teacher who is willing to look silly because I know my students will love it.  :-)  What fun things that our schools do!

Looking so cute with her crazy hair and crazy socks

Her dad did her hair and did AWESOME!!

The Nutcracker

Emily and Ashley's dance studio puts on the Nutcracker each year.  Even though the girls are in different classes, they both got to be candy canes during the Nutcracker.  They were very cute and did an excellent job!  Grandma and Grandpa Day were able to come and so was Kenny's sister, Marsha and her daughter, Jessi.  Great night!

Ashley's first loose tooth

Ashley lost her first tooth last week!  It was so exciting!  For some reason, I LOVE loose teeth so much.  Maybe it takes me back to my childhood and how exciting it was.  I don't know, but Ashley was very excited.  In true Ashley form though, she would not let any of us pull it out.  She HAD to do it herself.  Finally it got loose enough (really just hanging there) that she pulled it out on her own!  She was so excited and Emily was too. She helped Ash write a cute note to the tooth fairy that night.  And the tooth fairy did not disappoint!  What a momentous occasion!!
When her tooth was literally just hanging there.
