Storytelling
Emily chose to do the storytelling festival this year and she did such a fantastic job. She chose the book Duck! Rabbit! and memorized it beautifully. She made her props and was ready. She told it for her class and made it to the grade level. I told her it was okay if she didn't make it to the school level, so she wouldn't be sad, but she made it! She told her story for all of the K-3 kids. She didn't win in the school wide one, but she didn't care! She had a blast telling her story and that's all that matters. Way to go, Emily!! Your mom and dad are so proud of you!!! :-)

100 Days of School
Emily's 100th day of school was a couple weeks ago. She had to bring 100 items to share with the class and a collection of 100 things. Emily chose to use M&M's and we made them into the number 100. It was quite a lot of work, but it turned out really cool. Then on the 100th day, they did a bunch of fun activities and had a super fun day! What great traditions!

Big Day!!
A couple weeks ago was a big day in Ashley's life!! She had her Kindergarten physical and shots so she could be ready for Kindergarten! I can't believe my beautiful little girl is going to be 5 and go to Kindergarten. She is doing so fabulous in pre-school and is learning so much. I'm very excited that she's maturing too.
Last week I went and officially registered her for Kindergarten. Wow! I love you so much, Ashley!! :-)

She had to get a finger poke for lead testing and I think she freaked out more about this than the shots. She didn't like the shots though--there were 3 of them! Gotta love the picture of her though!
Our doctor's office does a fun Kindergarten fair where they paint their faces, make animal balloons, give them a pencil box with supplies and let them have cookies and juice while they are waiting for their shots and after they're done. It helps a lot! Ashley chose a butterfly for her face and a dog on a leash for her balloon.

Tyler's Pre-Crawl Cuteness
Tyler's gettting very mobile. He rolls around and also does a scoot by putting his head down and pushing with his knee. It's quite cute and neither of our girls did this so it's a new thing for us. We had to get it on video before he stopped doing it. He gets on all fours now and rocks back and forth so we know it won't be long until he goes crawling away.
The video starts out with him dancing to the music playing. His "scoot crawl" starts at about 35 seconds.

My Grandma's 92nd Birthday
My Grandma A turned 92 a couple weeks ago and my mom threw her a party at my cousin's house. My Grandma is not very happy to be 92. A little background: her husband died 30 years ago and she's been alone ever since. She's nearly blind and a little deaf and has some Alzheimer's symptoms. She's been saying since she was 80 that she'd be okay if this were her last year, and 12 years later she's still alive and kickin'. :-)
We sang to her and at the end of the song, my mom added, "and many more." My grandma gives her a scowl and says, "I hope not!" It was quite a funny moment. She may want to pass on, but I love that my kids are getting to know their Great Grandmother. Every time we're together I make sure to get a new picture with her and the kids. It will definitely be something to cherish in the future. Happy Birthday, Grandma A!!

A Scary Day for me
Ashley went to the dentist and had two cavities that needed to be filled. She went back on Thursday to have them filled and then came to school to see me. This is what she looked like:
It was funny to see her like this, but also scary. My face and Kenny's face have never done this at the dentist before so I wondered why hers did. I figured that in a couple hours it would wear off and she'd be fine. I was wrong. When I went to get her at the end of the day, she still had that paralysis on her face and it had only slightly improved.
Being typical me, I started panicking that the dentist had somehow messed up and paralyzed her muscles forever. My daughter's beautiful face was going to be ruined forever. I was, to say the least, pretty mad!! Kenny calmed me down and assured me it would look better in the morning, so I believed him and had faith. In the morning, to my partial happiness, it looked a lot better but still had partial paralysis that still lasted on Friday and into Saturday. I asked the doctor and he said that she just must be very sensitive to the lidocaine that they injected and so we'll remember that in the future. She looks like her beautiful self now, but what a roller coaster scary day.

I sure love that face!! :-)
