Happy 7th Birthday, Emily!

Emily,

I can't believe you are seven years old already.  Wasn't it just yesterday that you were Tyler's size?  I never knew I could love someone so much before I had you!  You truly made me whole when you finally came into my life!
I love the girl you are becoming.  I love your sense of humor, your brains, your helpfulness, your caring so much about other people, and your spirit.  You are definitely not perfect, but are perfectly wonderful for our family.  I thank Heavenly Father for you every day.  I love you so so much!

Love,
Mom

Twins

The Day family has the misfortune of having very weak teeth (we hope our kids inherit my teeth) so Kenny's dad has little by little lost his teeth over the years.  Since Emily's front tooth still doesn't want to come in (5 months and still no tooth!!) we couldn't resist getting a picture of the twins before Grandpa got his new teeth. :-)

Coming Home

This is what I get to come home to each night:

That smile just melts my heart!  Am I lucky, or what? :-)

Boy, does Ashley love preschool!

Ashley LOVES preschool.  We are so grateful that we chose to put her in preschool again this year.  She loves her teachers (btw, both named Ashley!) and loves all the things she learns.  She picks up on things so easily and is learning so many letters that she didn't know before.  My stress level that she'll be ready for Kindergarten keeps going down each week.  I am so grateful for great teachers that work hard and make learning fun.
 Working on shapes
 Examining spiders
Writing the word spider--I love the "s"--you don't know how much we've worked with her on her s.  Oh well, someday she'll get it!

 Playing
 She loves stamping
Her favorite thing about preschool is recess.  She LOVES getting to play on the big kid playground
Going down the slide; she's so cute :-)
One of the many projects she's made; this is from the book "10 Apples up on Top"

**A big thank you to Miss Ashley for taking all these pictures and putting them on her class website so I can have them too.  I hope my parents appreciate pictures of their students as much as I do!**

BYU Fan

Kenny finally has his little boy that he can make into as big of a BYU fan as he is.  Kenny dressed up Tyler before the BYU/Utah game in all our BYU garb.  Taking pictures of Ty in all this garb was only slightly successful, but Tyler sure looked cute! :-)  Go BYU!

He's so cute!

This is Tyler's new trick: being able to hold his head straight up while on his tummy. Isn't he cute! :-)

Tyler's First Trip to the Zoo

The week before school started we went to the zoo. I love the zoo because it's so relaxing and laid back. You just walk around and see the various animals and enjoy spending time together. This was Tyler's first time at the zoo and he didn't think much of it :-), but my girls sure did. They had a dinosaur exhibit going where life size dinosaurs that moved and made noise were scattered throughout the park. It was REALLY cool (and a tad bit scary!).

After the zoo we went to eat at the girls' favorite restaurant, Chuck-a-grama (if you remember from an earlier post). We all had a blast and enjoyed one of our last outings together before school started.

Protecting each other
Ashley just chillin' on the elephant

This dinosaur even sprayed water. He was very popular

Don't let him get us, Daddy!
I love this because Ashley was a little afraid of the T-Rex so she kept looking at him instead of the camera, afraid that he was going to get us :)
Tyler just enjoyed being held :-)
Take that, Dinosaur!
Uh, oh!
My beautiful family
Emily still loves seeing fossils after learning about them in Kindergarten
Ashley and Tyler in the egg
You can't go to the zoo without taking a picture of the kids inside the egg and the turtle. Also, this beautiful girl got lost for a few minutes at the zoo. She kept walking after Kenny and Emily had stopped. Luckily she realized she was lost and very smartly stopped and sat down where she was, so we found her in about five minutes. So glad she was safe!
