Super Cute and Gross!

Ashley has naturally curly hair that doesn't seem to want to grow so we've never been able to put her hair in pony tails. Last week she asked for "ponies" (as we call them) and Kenny tried and succeeded! How cute is she?!

Tyler's had a cold this last week. Kenny was getting ready, heard Tyler sneezing, went to get him and found this:

GROSS!!!
Kenny said, "I didn't even know that babies could make that big of a booger!" :-)

Daddy Daughter Date

Kenny's been promising Emily a "special Daddy's day" for awhile and they finally went on it a couple weeks ago. They had a BLAST! They went to eat at IHOP (kids were free in August!), then went to Trafalga and did everything there. They then ended the night by going to the Dollar Store and buying a get feeling better present for Ashley (how sweet; Ashley was sick that day) and with a trip to Coldstone. Emily was in heaven and had so much fun! What a good dad!

Lovin her pancakes!
Carousel
Emily climbed the very top this time!! Woohoo!
The Blaster boats
They came home soaked; there was a girl that wouldn't stop spraying them on the blaster boats. They still had a blast though!

First Day of School; First Day of School!

Emily was SO excited to start first grade and be at school all day! The thing that she was probably the most excited about was eating lunch in the lunchroom! She couldn't wait. :-) Her day finally arrived on Tuesday. Monday night, Kenny gave Emily and Ashley (she's starting preschool) a father's blessing and me a blessing too for the start of the school year.
We went to bed early. Then on Tuesday morning, she got up early, put on her clothes, then took them back off so we could give her a bath. We then ate breakfast and were off. It's fun to have Emily with me when I go to school but also now after school too. She has a wonderful teacher and is LOVING school so far! I can't believe my little girl is in first grade! Where does the time go?
On a side note, my first week of school went well too, but it really wore me out. Having three kids, teaching, and being mom is EXHAUSTING, but totally worth it. I hope once my routines get established these next few weeks then it won't be quite as exhausting anymore. Let's hope!!

Ready to leave for school

Feeling Helpless

I think all parents will agree with me when I say that when your child is sick it's so hard feeling helpless. We try our best to give them medicine or enough liquids, but our little baby's (whether they're 3 months or 3 years) body has to work it all out and we as the parents just feel helpless and play the waiting game. We can't take the pain away, we can't take the diarrhea and throwing up away, we can only love and give snuggles and rubs. My little Ash has been sick since Friday. We don't know why or how; we just know she's sick and needs love and attention. Hope she gets better soon, but in the meantime I'll try to be patient and enjoy my snuggles!
I went down to check on Tyler this morning and came back upstairs to find this; Ash had fallen asleep right by our door to our room. Poor thing, but at least she's sleeping! :-)

Tyler's Blessing

Sunday we blessed Tyler. It was such a special day. The Spirit was so strong and I knew that Kenny had it flowing through him, because of some of the things he said in his blessing. He blessed Tyler with health and strength, that he would have a keen mind, and that he could be an example to others. That others could look to him to see how to follow the Lord. It was a wonderful blessing. Tyler looked so cute!!
After the blessing we had the fam over for lunch. It was a wonderful day and I feel so blessed to be his mother and to have the family that I have!

I put on two pictures of us because Tyler looks better in this picture, but the picture below shows his cute outfit better.

Emily's Joke

Last night Emily made up a joke. What did the green eyed baby say to the brown eyed baby?

What?

"Aaa" (Because Tyler is cooing at us now)

She was pretty proud of herself for her joke. :-)

Just had to document it so we could remember later! Love you, Em!

Swimming Lessons

The girls just finished their annual swimming lessons. Ashley finally got to do them this year too! She did so great! Her teacher was even one of my former students. :-) Emily's teacher was in our ward so that was also cool. They both learned a lot and had fun. On the last day of lessons they get to go down the waterslide. They look forward to this the entire two weeks.
I LOVE this picture of Ashley and her teacher, Brad. Click on it to see their faces better! :-)
Emily got to go down alone!
Her teacher then took them to the diving board. Emily was really scared at first since she'd never been on it, but she FINALLY dared jump, did awesome and wanted to do it again. I was really proud of her!
